6 Best Vegan Protein Bars 2017

Consuming the right amount of protein is essential to maintain a healthy diet, however, this can be difficult to achieve with a standard diet alone.

Particularly if you are following a specific workout regime, you may become adept at monitoring the amount of protein you consume and matching this to your weight and energy output.

Whilst a lack of protein can be rectified with the use of protein shakes, it is not always convenient to be able to make or consume them.

When this is the case, it can prove handy to be able to grab the best vegan protein bars to get some quick, easy and tasty protein.

Top 3 Vegan Protein Bars Reviews

1. Probar Base Protein

I got a box of mint chocolate Probar protein bars with the intention of having one ready for each time I finished a workout and was feeling ravenous. However, I found them disappearing much quicker than one every workout!

You can immediately smell the mint on opening the packet, which is lovely and fresh rather than like a fake, manufactured essence of mint that smalls and tastes a bit like chemicals.

I am not a fan of protein bars that are too sweet, and this one ticked that box.

My love for chocolate was satisfied and I did not do any snacking between my morning workout and lunchtime. However, I was still happy to eat the lunch I would normally eat.

They are also 100% organic and gluten-free. The consistency is pleasant, not like others that require a lot of chewing.

2. Vega Sport Protein

These Vega protein bars are so similar to a normal candy bar, that it is not like you are eating a protein bar at all.

I especially liked the dark chocolate coating on the chocolate coconut flavor that I tried.

I like to avoid any artificial stuff and these do not have any artificial colors or flavors and are free from gluten and GMO.

Each bar is the same size as a normal candy bar, so I was pleasantly surprised that they contain 19g of protein each.

I liked the amount of protein that they provide as it helped make it easy to keep track of the amount of protein I get in any given day so I could workout accordingly.

One little bar managed to satisfy my normal craving for snacks and my hunger.

It also contains glutamine and Omega 3, which is a bonus. There are no artificial sweeteners, so the sweetness of it is derived from only natural ingredients.

It is a little firmer than other protein bars I’ve tried, but not so tough that it is like punishment for the teeth.

An all natural, tasty protein bar that is great after a workout.

3. Good Greens

There are such a wide range of protein bars on the market that have flavors based on chocolate and cookie dough and such like that it is nice to try something new. This is the case with these Good Greens bars as they are a lovely change.

They are soy Greek yoghurt bars, so are vegan and do not contain any gluten.

I had the pumpkin spice flavor, which immediately made me think of Thanksgiving as it really tastes like pumpkin pie. Eating it felt like it was a real indulgence, despite it being one of the best vegan protein bars on the market in the health stakes.

I was easy to digest and I was happy to eat it before a workout as well as after.

They can melt if left in a hot area though, so best kept in a cool area.

Each bar gives 12g of protein and is only 195 calories.

Great tasting protein bar for before or after a workout.
